Above is an example of how I plan to set up my own classroom library. I will have an organized area clearly labeled “Library” where the students can select books as they please. The books will be labeled by reading level and the students will have a laminated card in their daily folder that tells them which reading level they are at so they know which section to select books from.

The students will have bean bags to sit in while they read in their free time. I will provide carpet space as well as other small reading areas in the room so children can feel the freedom of choice and view reading as enjoyment.

I will have a list of rules posted in the classroom library similar to the one above. My classroom library rules will include writing their name and the title of the book in a book log.
